The Telopea Centre is the home-base for Horticultural Therapy in New South Wales and is located within the grounds of the Ryde College of TAFE, which specialises in horticulture training.
The Telopea Centre is equipped to provide training and instruction to people with a disability and their carers and has the following facilities:
- Wheelchair Access
- Accessible toilet
- Audio Loop system
- Parking area
The Telopea Centre also has the following resources for inspection and to trial:
- Tools and equipment
- Raised garden beds for easy access
- Literature and information about Horticultural Therapy
Courses are run from the Telopea Centre in association with the Ryde College.
- P.L.A.N.T. Skills Program is a horticulture course suitable for people with a disability
- "Horticultural Techniques for Therapy" is a course for Health Care workers, special educaotrs and those working with people with special needs.
Workshops and targetted training sessions for groups and organisations may be arranged on a case by case basis by arrangement with the Management Committee of Cultivate NSW. To discuss you need or make your request, simply contact the Centre. All requests will be given due consideration.
